Enhanced WebSockets enable real-time monitoring of Solana activity with significantly lower latency and advanced filtering compared to standard WebSocket APIs. Built on the same high-performance infrastructure as LaserStream, Enhanced WebSockets are ideal for applications requiring immediate notification of transaction confirmations, account state changes, or program interactions without the complexity of managing dedicated nodes and gRPC connections.

What are Enhanced Websockets?

Helius provides Enhanced WebSockets in addition to Solana’s Standard WebSocket methods, which offer faster response times than Standard WebSockets. Today, Enhanced WSS are powered by the same infrastructure that powers LaserStream, our next-gen gRPC streaming service built for speed, simplicity, and fault-tolerance. Enhanced WSS support two subscription methods:

On what plans are Enhanced WSS available?

Enhanced WSS are available on Business and Professional plans.

Enhanced WSS Metering

Users who upgrade to Business and Professional plans after October 16, 2025 are metered at 3 credits per 0.1 MB of streamed data. Users on these plans before this date remain unmetered.

Enhanced WSS Data Add-ons

For high-volume data streaming on Professional plans, Data Add-Ons provide monthly data allowances (5TB-100TB) at predictable costs, and can be applied to both LaserStream and Enhanced WSS usage.

Enhanced WSS Endpoints

Enhanced WSS are available on mainnet and devnet with the following URLs: Mainnet: wss://atlas-mainnet.helius-rpc.com/?api-key=<API_KEY> Devnet: wss://atlas-devnet.helius-rpc.com/?api-key=<API_KEY>
WebSockets have a 10-minute inactivity timer; to keep the WebSocket connection alive, we recommended that you implement health checks and that pings be sent every minute.
